03 - Eco & Canal Tour

You will find yourself in a boat experience, where wildlife surrounds you. This in itself is a powerful experience to see the Canal from withn and visit the Isla de los Monos, located on the famouse Gatun Lake.

  • The tour starts at your hotel in Panama City, where we will pick you up.
  • This activity is carried out in the area of ​​Gamboa.
  • The transfer time will be around 45 minutes.
  • Be aware of the guide's comments on the transfer and take advantage of the incredible scenery during the ride.
  • Board the high-speed boats to begin the excursion.
  • Glide through the waters of the Panama Canal and observe the flora and fauna of the area; keep in mind all the different species that can be appreciated here and those that your guide will show you.
  • Visit the "Isla de los Monos" located inside Gatun Lake.
  • Look for different species of monkeys in it and all the other islands within the lake.
  • The guide on board the boat will be in constant search of wildlife while giving the commentary of the tour; do not lose track of this.
  • After this experience, we will return to the Navy and board the bus again
  • Visit the local Summit Zoo, home to a mix of native plants and animals.
  • Finally after this unique experience, it's time to return to the hotel.

This is an adventure on the lake of sounds and views of the rainforest. We will move to the public dock at Gatun Lake after traveling on one of the picturesque internal roads once used to communicate the cities and military bases with the canal's support buildings.

We will board a small boat to navigate next to the large ships that pass through the Canal after passing under a wooden bridge where the transisthmian railway passes. This in itself is a powerful experience of observing the channel from within.

We will make a stop at Isla de los Monos to see in the vicinity of the tropical rainforest that supports the operation of the Panama Canal. As we move along the forested shores of the lake, also a protected area, we will descend at a cruising speed and look for wildlife such as capuchin monkeys, 3-toed sloths, howler monkeys, various types of toucans and other birds. When we get closer to Monkey Island, the excitement will raise your adrenaline levels in anticipation of these cute animals that could reach the boat waiting to be fed; All this experience will be extremely educational.

Finally we will return to the pier and board the bus for a quick trip to the Summit Zoo; home to a mix of variety of native plants and animals, including our national bird, the Harpy Eagle. Then we will return you to your hotel in Panama City.
